Vice-captain Tilak Verma’s performance in the Ireland and England T20 series was very poor. Big questions were being raised on the strike rate of this player. Now Tilak Verma has given his clarification on this issue after reaching Zimbabwe. Tilak Verma told that due to the failure of the top order in Ireland and England, he did not get the freedom to bat fast. He said that his batting changes depending on the game and conditions. Tilak Verma said that in the England T20 series, the top order batsmen used to get out early due to which the middle order batsmen could not bat fast.
What clarification did Tilak Verma give on slow batting?
On the question related to slow batting, Tilak Verma said, ‘In this game you have to bat at different places. I always say that whatever is necessary for the team, I do it. If I have to wait for the team, I will play accordingly. If I have to hit, I will hit and play. Tilak Verma further said, in Ireland and England, four-five wickets always fell at the end of the powerplay. In such a situation, it was not wise to go there and hit shots continuously and get out.

Tilak Verma Said that he always wants to play fast but sometimes he has to show some patience. Tilak said, ‘I always have this thing in my mind that I can hit the shot on the first ball. But at the same time I am playing for the country, so I have responsibilities also. Vice-captain is attached to my name and the team has given me this responsibility thoughtfully. So I am playing accordingly.

Why did Team India fail in Ireland-England?
Tilak Verma also answered the question as to why Team India failed in Ireland and England. According to Tilak, Team India was playing cricket in Asia for the last two years and then the pitches and conditions are different in Ireland and Europe due to which Team India faced difficulties. However, Tilak said that Team India will try to perform well in Zimbabwe. He hopes that by winning here, Team India will get back into rhythm.
