Thalapathy Vijay and his new party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) have made quite the statement with their entry into Tamil Nadu politics.
The actor-turned-politician received majority votes in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly and members of the Tamil and Telugu film industries wished well on the new stage of his career. South superstars Suriya, Chiranjeevi, and Kamal Haasan all posted their congratulatory messages for the Jana Nayagan actor. For his very first election with TVK, Vijay has made history in Tamil Nadu as he ended the 50-year rule of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) in the state.

Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi and his son Ram Charan both send their congratulations to Vijay. Chiranjeevi wished Vijay on his “well-deserved victory” and hoped that the new politician would inspire, lead and serve with unwavering passion and purpose. Meanwhile, the Peddi actor shared that Vijay’s vision and connection with the people have truly resonated, leading to the historic results in Tamil Nadu.

Another actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan also sent over his congratulations. Posting his message in Tamil, he stated that TVK had earned the people’s trust and achieved a great victory in their very first election. The Vikram star sent over his best wishes for the party’s public service to flourish.

Soorarai Pottru actor Suriya also added a post in Tamil for his good friend Vijay. He wrote that Tamil Nadu had shown good faith in Vijay. The actor wished heartfelt congratulations to him before beginning a new chapter in Tamil Nadu politics.

Finally, Pushpa star Rashmika Mandanna also posted an excited message about Vijay and TVK’s win. She shared that she was extremely happy and eager to see him in this new era! Earlier, Rashmika’s husband, actor ,had written that he was excited to see Thalapathy Vijay as the new face of Tamil politics.

Earlier today on May 4, as the results were announced, the actor was with his parents at their home in Chennai. His fans gathered outside to cheer on TVK’s victory and the actor came out to the balcony to address the crowd. Vijay smiled and at the fans and expressed his gratitude for the support they gave to the party on their first try in Tamil Nadu state politics. Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam won 108 seats in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly.
