IPL 2026: KKR spinners shine as SRH bowled out for 165 in Hyderabad

New Delhi: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) spinners Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine delivered a brilliant performance with the ball to bundle SRH out for 165 runs in the IPL 2026 clash at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Sunday, May 3.

SRH got off to a flying start after opting to bat first and raced to 71/1 in the power play despite losing Abhishek Sharma for 15 in the fourth over. Travis Head scored a 22-ball half-century and stitched a fifty-run partnership with Ishan Kishan.

SRH were 105/1 in nine overs, and were aiming for a big total, but Chakravarthy ended that partnership by removing Head for 61. After his dismissal, the hosts lost 9 wickets for 60 runs in 10.1 overs. Powell took a stunning catch to remove Heinrich Klaasen for 11 runs, which is his lowest score in the season.

Chakravarthy removed Smaran and Aniket, and then Narine dismissed Salil and Ishan in the same overs to complete his 200 wickets in the IPL. The two spinners combined picked up 5 wickets as SRH lost their plot completely. The hosts kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out for 165 runs in 19 overs. Chakaravarthy picked up three wickets, while Narine and Kartik Tyagi took two each.
