petrol-diesel
There may soon be an increase in the prices of petrol and diesel in the country. According to sources, the government may increase the prices of petrol and diesel. However, no announcement has been made by the government till now. But the government has drastically increased the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder in the country from May 1, 2026, due to which its price in Delhi has increased by ₹ 993 to ₹ 3,071.50.
According to government sources, oil companies are suffering huge losses because the prices of crude oil are continuously increasing. Due to the US-Iran war, the price of crude oil per barrel has reached above $100. Oil companies have to buy expensive oil from the international market. Apart from this, the prices of petrol and diesel have already increased in many countries. Considering this, it seems that the prices of petrol and diesel may increase soon. However, the situation is not clear by how much the prices will increase.
Union Minister gave this indication
On the other hand, Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that despite huge fluctuations in crude oil in the global market, the prices of petrol and diesel have not increased in India. India did not allow panic to become policy. The supply of fuel to the kitchens of the country did not stop. There was no increase in the prices of petrol and diesel.
Last 4 years: Despite huge fluctuations in crude oil in the global market, the prices of petrol and diesel did not increase in India.
Last 60 days: Due to military conflict and closure of the Strait of Hormuz, the cost of importing crude oil increased rapidly, yet fuel prices did not increase in the country.
