Patiwari gets bail now..but can he go to jail also?
Let us tell you that after the surrender, the Gwalior court, while hearing the hearing, has granted bail to Jitu Patwari on a personal bond of Rs 25,000. Now the next hearing of this case will be on August 3. Charges can be framed against him on this date. If all the allegations are found to be true then their problems may increase and they may even be sentenced to jail.
What is the case in which Jeetu Patiwari got the warrant?
- This entire matter is two years old i.e. April 2024. When Patwari was in Bhind during the Lok Sabha election campaign, he had accused Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate Devashish Jararia of collusion and money transactions with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to influence the elections.
- The matter came into limelight when Ashok Gupta, representative of BSP candidate Devashish Jararia, lodged an FIR against Patwari at Umri police station in Bhind on May 4, 2024. After this, the lower court issued a notice to Jitu Patwari to appear in the court on January 16, 2026, but he did not appear in the court. Now the court had issued an arrest warrant against him, in which he got anticipatory bail.
Who is Jeetu Patiwari?
Jitu Patiwari, born on 19 November 1973, is a senior leader of the Indian National Congress in Madhya Pradesh. He has been the Cabinet Minister of Higher Education, Sports and Youth Affairs. Presently he is the President of Madhya Pradesh Congress. He is considered close to Rahul Gandhi. After losing the MLA election, he has been made the State President. He has won the MLA election several times. But he was defeated in the 2023 assembly elections. He is very popular in Indore. From student life, he entered politics and was made the President of Youth Congress. He became MLA from Rao Assembly for the first time in 2013. He has also been in-charge of Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee.
