What is Kailash Mansarovar Yatra?
Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is one of the most sacred and challenging pilgrimages of Hinduism. This is a trip to Mount Kailash (Mount Kailash) and Lake Manasarovar located in Tibet (China). Mount Kailash is a 6638 meter (21,778 ft) high, pyramid shaped snow-covered mountain. It is considered to be the abode of Lord Shiva. In Hinduism it is said to be the physical form of Mount Meru. Lake Manasarovar is one of the highest freshwater lakes in the world and its height is 4590 meters. The area is equally sacred to followers of Hindu, Jain, Buddhist and Bon (Tibetan) religions.
People of Hindu religion believe that Kailash is the home of Lord Shiva and Parvati. Taking bath in Mansarovar destroys sins and attains salvation. By circling Kailash (Kora) one gets freedom from the cycle of life.
