The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela and former Trinamool Congress MP Mimi Chakraborty in connection with the ongoing investigation of online betting platform 1xbet. 1xbet is under investigation into allegations of suspected money laundering.
Urvashi is scheduled to appear on 16 September and MMM on 15 September at the ED headquarters in Delhi.
This investigation is part of comprehensive action on illegal betting platforms and their celebrity promoters and has already included several high-profile names. Earlier this month, former cricketer Shikhar Dhawan was summoned, while in August former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina also appeared before the agency.
