A special screening of the trailer was shown to select people from the media and industry, after which a trade analyst’s reaction created a stir on social media. His post mentions the possible date of the film’s release in theatres. Although the makers have not yet given official confirmation, but if this date proves to be correct then we may see a big international competition at the box office.
Was the release date of ‘Ramayana’ leaked from the trailer review?
After the special 3D screening organized at Bharat Mandapam, Delhi, trade analyst and film journalist GV has shared his reaction on social media. He wrote, “Watched the trailer of #Ramayana in 3D at Bharat Mandapam, Delhi a few days ago. The trailer will be released for the public on 24th July. The casting of the film is absolutely perfect and the color scheme and entire visual style feels completely Indian.” He also praised Ranbir Kapoor’s character of Lord Ram, Yash’s Ravana and Sai Pallavi’s character of Sita.

Why did the discussion intensify regarding the release date?
At the end of his reaction, GV wrote, “The visuals, music and VFX are world class. Can’t wait for the film to hit the theaters on 8th November.” After just this one line, speculations intensified on social media that ‘Ramayana’ may be released on 8 November 2026. However, the makers of the film have not yet officially confirmed this date. It is also not clear whether this information is official or merely mentions a possible release plan.
Was any other release date revealed earlier?
Earlier there were discussions that ‘Ramayana’ could hit the theaters at the end of October 2026. It was reported that Yash had hinted at this possible timeline during CinemaCon this year. If the date of November 8 is now fixed, then the release of the film will be different from what was discussed earlier.
Will ‘Godzilla: Minus Zero’ have a big box office clash?
If the date of 8 November 2026 proves to be correct, then ‘Ramayana’ may have a direct competition with Japanese director Takashi Yamazaki’s ‘Godzilla: Minus Zero’. The film is scheduled to release on 6 November 2026 in many markets across the world. With a difference of just two days in the release of both the films, there could be tough competition for IMAX and premium screens.

‘Ramayana’, being made under the direction of Nitesh Tiwari, is being counted among the biggest films of Indian cinema. This is a mythological epic being made in two parts, the budget of which is said to be around Rs 4000 crore. In the film, Ranbir Kapoor is playing the role of Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi is playing the role of Mata Sita, Sunny Deol is playing the role of Hanuman, Ravi Dubey is playing the role of Laxman and Yash is playing the role of Ravana. Many filmmakers who watched the initial screening of the trailer have praised its grandeur, visuals and technical level. The trailer of the film will be released globally on July 24.
