Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 594 km long Ganga Expressway. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath described it as a big medium for the development of farmers, youth, industry and Uttar Pradesh. Industrial clusters and logistics hubs will also be developed along the expressway.

Hardoi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the country’s largest Ganga Expressway. On this occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the foundation stone of this project laid by the Prime Minister in December 2021 has now been completely realized.

The 594 km long Ganga Expressway will become a major medium for the development of Uttar Pradesh, progress of farmers, employment of youth, preservation of faith and culture. This expressway, stretching from Meerut to Prayagraj, connects 12 districts and more than one lakh farmers have contributed in its construction.

The Chief Minister said that integrated industrial clusters and logistics hubs are also being developed at 27 places along the expressway, which will create new opportunities for investment and employment in the state. He said that it is the resolve of the double engine government that the foundation stone of the project will also be inaugurated on time.

Ganga Expressway Project: Construction work continued even in the Covid crisis

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that even in difficult times of global pandemic like Covid-19, the pace of Ganga Expressway project did not stop. He said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, all the processes from land acquisition to construction work were completed with speed and transparency. Describing the land of Hardoi as the land of faith associated with Lord Vishnu’s devotee Prahlad and Lord Narasimha, CM Yogi said that it is a matter of pride to inaugurate this historical project at this holy place.

Uttar Pradesh Infrastructure Development: Picture of the state changed after 2017

The Chief Minister said that before 2017, Uttar Pradesh was struggling with problems like nepotism, casteism, riots and mafia rule. At that time it was difficult to even imagine development, investment and employment. But in the last 9 years, the double engine government has done large-scale infrastructure development in the state.

He said that about four lakh kilometer long network of expressways, highways, district roads and rural roads has been prepared in Uttar Pradesh. Besides, work has been done to connect every district headquarters with a four-lane road and block and tehsil headquarters with two-lane and four-lane roads.

Connectivity strengthened by expressway, rapid rail and metro

CM Yogi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made a new beginning by inaugurating the country’s first rapid rail between Delhi and Meerut. Today, big projects like expressways, rapid rail, inland waterways, metro and dedicated freight corridors are developing rapidly in Uttar Pradesh.

He said that projects like Ganga Expressway are not just for reducing distance, but are also promoting industrial development, investment and employment. Big industrial projects like Defense Manufacturing Corridor are also connected to these expressways, which will strengthen the economy of the state.

Ganga Expressway Industrial Hub: 27 industrial clusters will increase investment

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that integrated industrial clusters and logistics hubs are being built at 27 places along the Ganga Expressway. These projects will boost industries in the state and create employment opportunities for the youth on a large scale. He said that about 18 thousand acres of land was taken from farmers for the construction of 594 km long expressway, while about 7 thousand acres of additional land has been acquired for industrial cluster and logistics hub.

More than one lakh farmers from 12 districts spread from Meerut to Prayagraj have made a significant contribution by donating their land for this project. Expressing his gratitude to the farmers, the Chief Minister said that due to the cooperation of the farmers and transparent land acquisition policy, this ambitious project could be completed on time.

PM Modi inaugurated Ganga Expressway

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the venue and inaugurated the Ganga Expressway by pressing the button. Before this, he planted saplings and also visited the exhibition organized by Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEDA). The entire expressway network of the state including Ganga Expressway was displayed in detail in the exhibition. During this, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath presented the statue of Mother Ganga to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Many senior leaders were present in the program

On this occasion, many ministers and public representatives including Governor Anandi Ben Patel, Union Minister of State for Finance and BJP State President Pankaj Chaudhary, Union Minister Jitin Prasad, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brijesh Pathak were present. Ministers Suresh Kumar Khanna, Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, Nitin Agarwal, Aseem Arun, Rajni Tiwari and other guests also participated in the program.
