Income eighty rupees, expenses rupees? Maruti’s revenue jumped by 28%, yet there was a dent in net profit, see full report here

India’s largest passenger car maker, Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) on Tuesday reported a 7 per cent year-on-year (YoY) decline in its standalone net profit for the March quarter. This profit stood at Rs 3,591 crore, whereas in the same quarter last year it was Rs 3,857 crore. The main reason for this was the impact of rising raw material costs on earnings. The company’s revenue from operations for the quarter stood at Rs 52,449 crore, which is 28 percent more than Rs 40,910 crore in the same period of the last financial year. The Brezza and Grand Vitara maker’s PAT (Profit After Tax) fell short of the Street’s estimate of Rs 4,279 crore, although the revenue was more than analysts’ expectation of Rs 51,486 crore.

Declaration of dividend of Rs 4400 crore

The company’s board has recommended a final dividend of Rs 140 per share for the financial year 2026, the total value of which is Rs 4,402 crore. Payment of dividend will depend on the approval of shareholders in the AGM (Annual General Meeting) to be held on August 31, 2026. MSIL has fixed August 7 as the record date to decide the eligibility of shareholders. The company said in its exchange filing that the payment will be made on September 9. MSIL’s PAT also declined by about 5 per cent sequentially from Rs 3,794 crore in the previous quarter (Q3FY26). The company has attributed the main reason for this decline to ‘mark-to-market’ effect.

sales figures

The company recorded the highest ever quarterly sales figure, which stood at 676,209 units. This is 11.8 percent more than Q4 FY25. Domestic sales stood at 538,994 units, while exports reached their highest ever level of 137,215 units. Operating profit (EBIT) for FY 2026 increased by 30.4 percent year-on-year to a record level of Rs 4,409 crore. For the full year, the company achieved record total sales of 2,422,713 units, which included domestic sales of 1,974,939 units and exports of 447,774 units.

This can be compared with last year’s total sales of 2,234,266 units, which included domestic sales of 1,901,681 units and exports of 332,585 units. The company recorded record net sales of Rs 1,74,370 crore in FY 2026, which is 20.2 percent more than last year. MSIL also recorded its highest ever net profit of Rs 14,445 crore in FY 2026, compared to Rs 14,298 crore last year.
