Prior to Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, the seat sharing formula between BJP and JDU in NDA is almost fixed. Small parties are also being given respectable stake. With the seal of Amit Shah, the NDA is ready to enter the electoral fray with full force.
Patna: The politics of Bihar is painted in electoral color these days. 243 assembly seats in the state are to be voted at the end of the year and the Election Commission is expected to release the election schedule in late September or early October. The term of the current assembly will end on 22 November 2025, so elections will be held before that. In such a situation, the NDA and India alliance have intensified their strategies regarding seat sharing.
According to sources, about 102-103 seats have been agreed between BJP and JDU in NDA. This step is an attempt to give a message to the opposition, with the coalition strong, that the NDA will unite and enter the electoral fray. It is being told that a formal announcement of seats will also be made soon, which will enhance the workers.
Small parties will also get respectable representation
NDA is serious this time to take small component parties along. Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) can get 20 to 22 seats, which will emerge as the third largest component of the coalition. At the same time, there are plans to give 7 to 9 seats to Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha and Upendra Kushwaha’s party. It is clear from this that the NDA is not ignoring its allies and is trying to enter the electoral fray with everyone.
Cooperation increased in NDA, less scope for disagreement
NDA leaders claim that recent decisions have increased confidence and harmony within the alliance. JDU spokesperson Neeraj Kumar said that “the government’s decisions have been supported by all constituents, which has strengthened the alliance. That is why the seat sharing process is moving without dispute.” The BJP and JDU want to strengthen the alliance by maintaining equal relations.
In the NDA strategy, Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Bihar is considered very important. In the presence of Shah, the last divide of the seats will be fixed, which will bring energy to the workers and also create psychological pressure on the opposition. Analysts believe that this journey will give a new direction to the NDA’s election strategy.
India alliance activism
At the same time, the opposition is also busy strengthening its position. Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress and Left parties are trying to help their respective vote banks. Tejashwi Yadav and Rahul Gandhi have increased their involvement with the public through visits. However, the list of candidates has not been finalized yet. Political analysts believe that lack of coordination between Congress and RJD is the biggest challenge of the opposition.
Political experts say that the result of Bihar assembly elections will affect not only the state but also the 2029 Lok Sabha elections. This balanced seat distribution of NDA will increase its strength and will give new energy to the election campaign by filling the workers. Before the Code of Conduct is implemented, the NDA will put the final formula of its seat sharing in front of the public. This alliance wants to gather wide support by giving stake to small parties. With the seal of Amit Shah, this strategy is also ready to land firmly on the ground. At the same time, the India alliance is also busy with its vote bank.
