Mini Cooper S Convertible JCW pack reaches India, priced at Rs 61.50 lakh

New Delhi: Mini has been quite busy of late, with multiple launches coming to the country. The brand has launched the Cooper S Convertible JCW Pack in India for a price of Rs 61.50 lakh (ex-showroom). It comes to India as a full import, and the availability will be limited. Based on the standard Cooper S Convertible, the JCW pack comes with quite some aesthetic updates on the inside and out, but the mechanical aspects remain the same. 

Bookings commenced for the Cooper S Convertible JCW Pack on April 14th, and the deliveries have already started.

In terms of design, the Mini Cooper S Convertible JCW Pack comes with the classic MINI features. The front comes with the typical face of the brand, with those legendary round headlights and the newly designed front grille. In terms of colour options, include  Legend Grey or Midnight Black, which are complemented by mirror caps & Sport Stripes in Black for the Legend Grey Exterior colour. 

Like most JCW packs, there’s a gloss-black finish for the front grille, outer rearview mirrors, door handles, side skirts, wheel arches, and bumpers. It also comes with 17-inch JCW wheels finished in black and comes with JCW-brand sport brakes, while the fabric roof is also finished in jet black.

In terms of interior, it gets blacked-out treatment for the seat upholstery and dashboard trim. It comes with JCW-branded sports seats and a JCW-specified steering wheel, but the equipment list is unchanged from the standard Cooper S Convertible. 

There are contrast elements with a red stripe on the front headrest and on the dashboard. Equipment list includes a head-up display, 9.4-inch circular OLED touch-infotainment system, a Mini connected-car suite, wireless charging, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto and a Harman Kardon audio system.

Under the bonnet, it retains elements from the Cooper S Convertible, and is powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine, making 204 bhp and 300 Nm of torque, and is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, which sends the power to the front wheels.

It can do 0-100 kph in 6.9 seconds and has a top speed of 237 kph, and Mini has said that the Mini convertible will do 16.82 kpl. The standard Cooper S hatchback also comes with a sporty-looking JCW pack, priced at Rs 55.65 lakh (ex-showroom), making this one the second JCW pack trim in Mini’s range at present.
