Ganga Expressway is being developed as IMLC corridor in Uttar Pradesh, connecting 12 districts with industry, logistics and markets. This is giving new impetus to employment, investment and regional development.

As part of the strategy to link infrastructure with economic development in Uttar Pradesh, the Ganga Expressway is now being developed as an Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Corridor (IMLC). This expressway is not just a medium for fast travel, but is also working to connect the specialties of every district with industry and market. 12 IMLC nodes are being developed by Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA), based on different sectors, so that local resources can be better utilized.
Meerut: Emerging city as data center and logistics hub
Ganga Expressway starts from Bijauli village of Meerut, which is connected to Delhi-Meerut Expressway. This provides Meerut with direct and fast connectivity to the national capital. This city is now becoming a big hub of data center, warehousing and sports goods industry. The growth of e-commerce and logistics sectors has led to an increase in employment and investment.
Hapur: Development of religious tourism and agro processing
The expressway in Hapur connects Garhmukteshwar (Brajghat), which will boost religious tourism. Interchanges have been built here to provide convenience to the passengers. Also, this area is famous for potato production, hence cold storage and food processing units are developing rapidly, which will benefit the farmers.
Bulandshahr: Airport connectivity to supply chain hub
Bulandshahr is becoming a major center of logistics and supply chain due to its proximity to Noida International Airport, Jewar. Industrial cluster and dairy industry are getting a boost here, which is strengthening the rural economy.
Amroha: Expansion of handicrafts and agro industry
Amroha is famous for its Dholak and wooden handicrafts. After connecting with Ganga Expressway, the products here will now be easily accessible to national and international markets. Besides, due to mango and sugarcane production, agro processing industry is also growing rapidly here.
Sambhal: From traditional art to modern market
Sambhal, which was earlier held back by lack of connectivity, is now developing rapidly. The ‘Horn and Bone’ craft here will now reach big markets through better logistics. This will provide employment and better income opportunities to local artisans.
Badaun: Changing picture from industrial township
Industrial township is being developed along the expressway in Badaun. Due to this, investment is increasing in industries as well as education and health sectors. Now this district is rapidly emerging as a new economic and urban centre.
Shahjahanpur: Airstrip and new employment opportunities
A 3.5 km long airstrip is being built in Shahjahanpur, where fighter jets will be able to land if needed. This development will create new employment opportunities along with security. Skill development centers are preparing youth for employment.
Hardoi: Strategic Center of the Corridor
The longest stretch of the Ganga Expressway passes through Hardoi, making it the main hub of the corridor. Knowledge Park and Textile Park are being developed here. Better connectivity will help farmers to reach their produce to the market quickly.
Unnao: Industrial development through tri-city model
Unnao, along with Lucknow and Kanpur, is developing as a “tri-city model”. This will especially benefit the leather industry of Kanpur. Products will be able to reach the country and abroad faster, which will increase employment.
Rae Bareli: Expansion of Industrial Ecosystem
Ancillary industry is growing rapidly around Lalganj Railway Coach Factory in Rae Bareli. Due to connectivity with Ganga Expressway, this district is becoming attractive for investment. There has been a rise in employment and industrial activities here.
Pratapgarh: Agro Branding and Market Expansion
Pratapgarh’s Amla will now reach big markets faster through expressway. Agro-based industry is developing here due to food processing units. Real estate and business are also growing around the interchange.
Prayagraj: Confluence of tourism, trade and connectivity
The last point of Ganga Expressway is at Judapur Dandu village in Prayagraj. This will ease traffic during big events like Kumbh and Magh Mela. Also, with the proposed commercial hub, this city will become a major center of trade and service sector.
