Madhya Pradesh government introduced UCC ordinance in the assembly. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that this will greatly benefit Muslim women and police recruitment will also speed up.
Bhopal. Under the leadership of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the state government has taken a big step towards implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). The government has presented the ordinance related to UCC on the table of the Assembly. Now it is expected that it will get the form of law during the rainy session. After its implementation, a uniform system of laws will be applicable for all citizens in the state. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that this decision was long expected and its objective is to provide equal legal rights to all citizens. He expressed confidence that after passing it in the Assembly, a similar law will be implemented in the state.
UCC Benefits: Muslim women will get relief from problems like Halala
While talking to the media after the meeting held at the Police Headquarters, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that there should be equal law for all citizens on the soil of Madhya Pradesh. He said that irrespective of religion or community, equal legal system for all is the basic spirit of democracy.
The Chief Minister said that Muslim women will get the most benefit from the Uniform Civil Code. According to him, women will get relief from social and legal complications like Halala. He also said that when suggestions were invited regarding UCC, a large number of Muslim women had supported it. Dr. Yadav said that his government is moving forward with the thinking of “one country, one legislation, one system”. He also appealed to the opposition that all parties should work together on issues of development and public interest of the state.
MP Police Recruitment: Government’s big focus on police recruitment and promotion
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav also gave information about important decisions related to the police department. He informed that the state government has approved the new police recruitment. He said that sub-inspectors were recruited about eight years ago and now new appointments are being made to strengthen the police force. He said that both the number and efficiency of police will be increased to make law and order more effective. The government is continuously taking forward the process of recruitment and promotion so that the police department can become stronger.
Crime Control: Strict action will continue against criminals
The Chief Minister said that the state government has a clear goal that no criminal should get an opportunity to escape from the law. He said that a few days ago, in a meeting with senior officials at the Chief Minister’s residence, recruitment, promotion and strengthening the police system were discussed in detail. He said that keeping in mind the drug-free India campaign of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, a comprehensive strategy against drug abuse is being prepared in Madhya Pradesh also.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that in the areas of the state which earlier had the problem of Naxalism, the situation has now become much better. The government is working in a planned manner to accelerate development works in such areas. He expressed satisfaction that among the recent promotions in various departments, the maximum number of promotions have taken place in the Police Department. He also said that the system of regular recruitment and annual promotion will be strengthened in future also.
