Storm hits Arun Jaitley Stadium (Photo-PTI)
IPL 2026: While on one hand the Delhi Capitals batsmen surrendered in the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, on the other hand something happened in Delhi’s home ground Arun Jaitley Stadium which was really surprising. Due to poor batting by Delhi, the match had to be stopped for some time at Arun Jaitley Stadium and the reason for this was the dust storm and the garbage that came with it. During Delhi’s innings, as soon as the power play ended, a strategic time out was taken and during this time a terrible storm came. Due to this storm, dust spread in the entire stadium and garbage also flew there. This garbage spread across the entire field due to which the match was stopped for some time.
Batsmen faced problems
Delhi’s batsmen faced problems due to the garbage spread after the dust storm. Particles of mud entered the eyes of batsman Abhishek Porel. After which his eyes were cleaned by RCB players. After this storm the visibility of the stadium also reduced slightly. Not only this, during Delhi’s batting, Delhi flags were also seen lying in the field.

Delhi’s shameful performance
Before the storm, there was a storm of RCB bowlers in the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood together destroyed Delhi’s batting order. In this match, Delhi lost 6 wickets for just 8 runs and made the lowest score in IPL history in the powerplay. Delhi scored only 13 runs in the powerplay. Delhi Capitals lost the wicket of Sahil Parakh in the first over. After this KL Rahul was out. His wicket was taken by Hazlewood. Sameer Rizvi was also dismissed on the very first ball. Tristan Stubbs, Akshar Patel were also dismissed and Nitish Rana also scored only 1 run.
