What did Anand Mahindra say?

Comparing Kedarnath Dham ‘then and now’, Anand Mahindra wrote, “This is one of the oldest photographs of the sacred Kedarnath Dham, taken in 1882.”

He further wrote, “I can’t take my eyes off this picture. 144 years ago, there were neither roads, nor trains, nor helicopters. There was just the peaceful abode of Lord Shiva in the lap of the Himalayas, which was calling the devotees towards itself. At that time, the journey to Kedarnath was a penance. It was a test of time, endurance and unwavering faith. Reaching the destination was not just a journey, but the fruit of penance.”

Comparing it with today’s times, Mahindra said, “Today it has become easier for us to reach Kedarnath, giving everyone that divine experience. But shouldn’t we preserve some things? Like the art of traveling slowly and with devotion.”

Concluding his speech, he wrote, “The journey is not just a means to reach the destination. On this path, how we become human beings, our inner passion, devotion, faith, continuous effort and hard work, all this is equally important.”
