Jantar Mantar Protest: By 5 pm on Monday evening, Delhi’s historic Jantar Mantar had been transformed into a cantonment. Police removed the stage, movement started again at night
After the Parliament march at around 5 pm on Monday evening, Delhi Police had vacated the Jantar Mantar protest site. Abhijeet Deepke’s announcement – ‘Parliament March will happen again’
Speaking to India Today Digital, Abhijeet Deepke said, “We will not leave Jantar Mantar. The march to Parliament will also take place on Tuesday. The movement will continue until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns.” The main demands of CJP include resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, reform in the examination system and accountability of the government on issues related to students. Party leaders say that the strike will not be ended until all three demands are met.

Amidst this riot on the streets, the political developments behind the scenes have become even more mysterious. According to sources, on Monday itself the CJP delegation held two highly confidential meetings with Union Health Minister JP Nadda. The first meeting took place around 11:50 am, where Nadda asked the protesters to put down their demands in writing. After this, at 4 pm the delegation submitted a written memorandum of three demands. There were speculations that after this conversation the movement would calm down and Abhijeet Dipke and three students also broke their fast. But on the other hand, a very long and closed-door meeting took place between Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Home Minister Amit Shah, the details of which have been kept completely secret. This mysterious silence of the government further increased the distrust within the protesters.

Sonam Wangchuk’s fast and big decision to be taken today in Delhi High Court
The biggest suspense in this entire incident remains regarding educationist and activist Sonam Wangchuk. Wangchuk, who was on an indefinite hunger strike for 22 days, was brutally detained by the police and admitted to Safdarjung Hospital. Even from the hospital bed, Wangchuk has clearly refused to break his fast. He alleged that the police deliberately lathicharged the peaceful protest.
