Amidst the continuous attacks on the faces associated with Jamaat-ud-Dawa and Lashkar-e-Taiba, now the news of the murder of another close friend of Hafiz Saeed has come to light. Sheikh Yousuf Afridi, considered the top commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, was shot dead by unknown assailants. According to initial information, the attackers fired indiscriminately at him and did not give him any chance to recover. After the attack, the attackers fled from the spot, while security agencies immediately cordoned off the area and started investigation.
Who was Sheikh Yusuf Afridi?
According to sources, Sheikh Yusuf Afridi was active in terrorist activities for a long time and was considered to have a strong hold within Lashkar-e-Taiba. He played an important role in the organization’s operations, network expansion and handling local contacts. His name had appeared several times in the reports of security agencies.
