A laborer died after a road caved in during pipeline repair in Aligarh. Taking cognizance of the matter, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has constituted an investigation committee. An assistance of Rs 5 lakh will be given to the family of the deceased and a report has been sought in 3 days.
Lucknow. A worker died in an accident during pipeline repair in Aligarh. Taking cognizance of this serious incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered immediate investigation. A committee has been formed to investigate the matter impartially.
Formation of 3 member inquiry committee, report in 3 days
The city administration has formed a three-member committee to investigate this incident. This committee will be headed by the Additional Municipal Commissioner, while the Executive Engineer (Construction) and the Tax Assessment Officer have been made members. The committee has been instructed to thoroughly investigate the incident and submit its report within 3 days.
Assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the family of the deceased laborer
The government has announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the family of the worker who lost his life in the accident. Calling it a tragic incident, the administration has promised to provide all possible assistance to the family.
Construction work was going on under CM Grid Scheme
According to Municipal Commissioner Prem Prakash Meena, the construction work of roads, sewers and drains was being done by Aligarh Municipal Corporation under the CM Grid Scheme in the Railway Road area. Meanwhile, the repair work of the damaged drinking water pipeline in front of Apsara Cinema was being done by the Water Department.
The accident happened despite security arrangements
According to officials, all necessary safety standards were followed at the workplace. There were also barricades, warning signs and safety equipment in place. Despite this, while connecting the pipeline, a part of the road suddenly caved in, due to which a worker was seriously injured.
Laborer dies during treatment in hospital
The injured worker was rushed to the hospital immediately after the incident, but he died during treatment. The administration has described this accident as extremely unfortunate.
Instructions for strict security arrangements in future
The Municipal Commissioner said that security arrangements will be made more stringent at all construction sites to prevent recurrence of such incidents. Also, further action will be taken on the basis of the investigation report.
