Weather Forecast 21 July 2026: There is an alert of rain, storm and heavy rain in many areas of Delhi-NCR, UP, MP, Rajasthan, Haryana, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. Read IMD’s latest update.
Weather Today: Monsoon is going to be fully active in many states of the country on July 21, 2026. There is a possibility of rain, thunder and strong winds in different parts of Delhi-NCR to Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Haryana and Rajasthan. There is a danger of heavy rain and lightning in many districts, while in some areas the weather will be pleasant with light to moderate rain. There will also be a drop in temperature as compared to previous days, due to which people are expected to get relief from humidity and heat.
There will be relief from rain in Delhi-NCR
The maximum temperature in Delhi on July 21 is expected to be around 33 degrees Celsius and the minimum will be 25 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, the whole day will be generally cloudy and there is a possibility of moderate rain. This will reduce the humidity and provide relief from the heat. After this, light rain or drizzle may continue on July 22 and 23, while the weather will be generally cloudy on July 24.
Danger of heavy rain in many districts of Uttar Pradesh
Monsoon will be seen showing maximum impact in Uttar Pradesh. There is a possibility of rain with thunder in many districts including Agra, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Lucknow, Meerut, Bareilly, Bijnor, Ayodhya and Ballia. Warning of heavy rain has also been given in areas like Agra, Ballia and Bijnor. Lucknow will remain cloudy throughout the day and it will rain intermittently. The temperature will range between 28 to 35 degrees Celsius in most cities. There are indications that rain will continue in many districts from 22nd to 24th July.

Chances of thunderstorms and strong winds in Madhya Pradesh
There is a possibility of rain and thundershowers amid clouds on July 21 in most parts of Madhya Pradesh including Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior and Chitrakoot. There is also an alert of lightning and strong winds in many areas. The temperature is expected to be around 31/25 degrees in Bhopal, 30/23 degrees in Indore and 34/27 degrees in Gwalior. The weather will remain almost the same on 22nd and 23rd July also.
Monsoon will remain continuously active in Chhattisgarh
Raipur, Durg, Ambikapur and Saraipali will remain cloudy on July 21 and there may be rain or thundershowers at many places. The maximum temperature in Raipur and Durg is likely to be around 27 degrees Celsius, while the rainy season will continue in Ambikapur also. The weather in the state is expected to remain like this for the next three-four days.

Weather will change again in many cities of Rajasthan
In Rajasthan, there is a possibility of rain and thundershowers in Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Udaipur and Pilani on July 21. Whereas in Bikaner, Jaisalmer and Jodhpur, there may be scattered rain along with cloud cover. The temperature in Jaipur is expected to be around 35/28 degrees, while in Udaipur it is expected to be 31/24 degrees. Rain and thunderstorms may continue in many parts from 22nd to 24th July.
Signs of rain with strong winds in Haryana
There is a possibility of rain and strong surface winds amid clouds in Ambala, Gurugram, Karnal, Rohtak, Hisar, Narnaul and Bhiwani on July 21. Lightning alert is also issued in many districts including Ambala. The temperature will remain between 28 to 35 degrees Celsius in most cities and there will not be much change in the weather even till July 22-24.
Rain continues in many cities including Mumbai in Maharashtra
Moderate rain is expected in the entire Mumbai metropolis including Borivali, Chembur, Colaba, Mulund, Powai, Santa Cruz and Worli on July 21. Light rain is expected in Pune and Nashik while continuous good rain is likely to continue in Ratnagiri. The temperature in Mumbai may be around 31/26 degrees, in Pune 29/24 degrees and in Nashik 31/24 degrees. Monsoon will remain active in Maharashtra for the next few days.
Important advice for people
In states where warnings of thunder, lightning and heavy rain have been issued on July 21, people have been advised to stay away from open fields, trees and electric poles during inclement weather. Be sure to check local weather updates before setting out on a trip. Due to monsoon being active in most parts of North India and Central India for the next three-four days, the rains are likely to continue.
