Palakkad court has given death sentence to a 61-year-old accused in the double murder case that took place in 2025 in Nenmara, Kerala. The government lawyer expressed happiness over the verdict and described the murder as barbaric. The accused was accused of brutally murdering a mother and son.
Government lawyer Vijay Kumar on Monday lauded the Palakkad Additional Sessions Court’s decision awarding death sentence to a 61-year-old absconding accused in the sensational 2025 Nenmara double murder case.
Terming the double murder as “cold-blooded” and “barbaric”, Kumar stressed that it had put the entire society of Kerala in danger. He said, “I am very happy that we put in a lot of efforts, and my team has also done a very good job. Finally we got the verdict in our favor. It should be noted that this was a very cruel, barbaric murder which horrified the entire society of Kerala. Three members of the same family were eliminated from the society.” It is noteworthy that Chenthamara was earlier arrested in 2019 for the murder of Sudhakaran’s wife Sajitha, whom he blamed for his marital problems.
The arrest was made through systematic investigation
Earlier, Superintendent of Police (SP) Abdul Rahim had said that investigation was conducted in a systematic manner with the help of the prosecution to arrest the absconding accused. He said, “The investigation was systematic, and the very next day of the incident we were successful in arresting the absconding accused. The prosecution was very helpful. That is why the court gave such a sentence.”
What is the whole matter?
It is noteworthy that Chenthamara was convicted of murdering his neighbor Sudhakaran (56) and Sudhakaran’s 74-year-old mother Lakshmi on January 27, 2025, at Pothundi near Nenmara. The Palakkad Additional Sessions Court sentenced him to death after finding him guilty of murdering the mother and son. (ANI)
