4, 4, 4, 4, 4, 4: Prabhsimran takes down Mukesh as PBKS post highest powerplay score of IPL 2026 – WATCH

New Delhi: Punjab Kings (PBKS) opener Prabhsimran Singh smashed an 18-ball fifty in the IPL 2026 clash against Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on April 25. Chasing a 265-run target, PBKS got off to a flying start as their openers hit 116 runs in the first six overs, which is the highest powerplay score of the IPL 2026.

Prabhsimran and Priyansh Arya looked in brilliant touch and stitched a 126-run partnership for the opening wicket. Prabhsimran also smacked six consecutive boundaries in the last over of the powerplay, bowled by pacer Mukesh Kumar. He became only the third player in IPL history to do so after Ajinkya Rahane and Prithvi Shaw.

Prabhsimran smashes six boundaries against Mukesh Kumar – WATCH

Prabhsimran hit a boundary on the first ball over cover-point to complete his fifty in 18 balls. He then smashed a four through mid-wicket, and again hit a boundary over cover on the third delivery. Mukesh changed his length on the last three deliveries, but Prabhsimran was in brilliant form and smashed all of them to the boundary rope.

Kuldeep Yadav’s double strike brings DC back into the game

After the explosive start from the PBKS openers, DC needed a couple of wickets to stay in the contest. Axar Patel removed Priyansh Arya for 43 runs in the seventh over. But Kuldeep Yadav brought DC back in the game after dismissing Prabhsimran for 76 runs in the 8th over, and Cooper Connolly for 17 in the 10th over.
