Giving great relief to the farmers, the Madhya Pradesh government has increased the compensation on land acquisition by 4 times. The new rule will be applicable to cases till April 24, 2026. This will increase the income of farmers and speed up development works.
Bhopal. Relief news has emerged for the farmers of Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has taken a big decision in matters related to land acquisition, due to which the long standing demand of the farmers has been fulfilled. Now the factor applicable for agricultural land in rural areas has been increased from 1 to 2. This new provision will be applicable to all those cases in which the final award has not been passed by April 24, 2026. The state government will soon issue its detailed guidelines.
Compensation will be up to 4 times the market rate
After this decision of the government, farmers will now be able to get compensation up to 4 times the market rate on the acquisition of agricultural land. This decision is being considered an important step towards making the farmers economically stronger. This will make it easier for farmers to purchase new land and they will be able to become active participants in the development process. Besides, the resolution of pending cases related to land acquisition will also be expedited.
Development works will accelerate
This decision will also have a direct impact on the ongoing and proposed development projects in the state. Land acquisition for important projects like irrigation schemes, road construction, bridges, railways and dams will now become easier. By getting more compensation to the farmers, their consent will increase, which will speed up development works and also strengthen the economy of the state.
Decision taken on the recommendation of the sub-committee
The recommendation of a sub-committee was behind this important decision. The state government had formed a committee comprising Minister Tulsiram Silawat, Minister Rakesh Singh and Minister Chetanya Kumar Kashyap. This committee studied the policies of other states and prepared a report after discussing with farmers organizations, organizations like CREDAI, CII and FICCI. After this, a recommendation was made to increase the compensation, which was accepted by the government.

This decision of the government is being considered transparent and farmer friendly. Thousands of farmers and their families of the state will directly benefit from this. Besides, investment and infrastructure development in the state will also get a boost.
