‘If the son is guilty then hang him, but do not hang him forcibly.’, accused Vikas’s mother raised questions on the police investigation; Demand for evidence gave a new twist to the case – News Himachali News Himachali

The case of Vikas Patial, arrested in the Siya murder case, has now taken a new turn, where the accused’s mother Sunita has raised serious questions on the police investigation. He said that if his son is really guilty then the police should present solid and concrete evidence in the court, and if proven guilty, he should be given death sentence.

But no attempt should be made to extract a confession by putting pressure without any strong evidence.

According to Sunita, on the day of the incident, she had gone to collect grass from home at around 8.30 in the morning. She falsely stated that Vikas had a fight with her that day or that he had left the house angry. He also told that before the incident, Vikas had encountered two women of the village, but he just bowed his head and moved ahead. If his intention was to kill, he could have taken some action at that very moment.

He demanded from the police that if the allegations against his son were true then concrete evidence like blood stained clothes, hood or weapons should be brought forward. He also expressed apprehension that the statement might have been taken forcibly from him under police pressure or during remand.

Sunita said that her family stands with the victim and wants justice. He also said that if the investigation proves that Vikas was involved in this incident under someone’s influence, then the death sentence for him will also be less. He claimed that Vikas had no criminal history and was a person of calm nature.

At the same time, local resident Prakash Chand also said that Vikas did not socialize much with anyone for a long time and used to talk very little. He said that the truth of the matter should be brought out completely on the basis of facts.

On the other hand, Joginder Singh, father of deceased Siya Guleria, said that his world has been destroyed, but he has got some satisfaction from the arrest of the accused by the police. He said that at present he has no additional complaints, but if any shortcomings come to light in the future, he will definitely inform them.
