Child’s head stuck in pot in Maharashtra

In February 2026, a similar case was reported from Maharashtra’s Jalgaon. A 3-year-old boy got his head stuck inside an aluminium pot while playing. Reports said that the child had placed the pot on his head, while imitating a king. He was reportedly trying to potray the vessel as a crown.

However, within just a few seconds, the utensil slid down and his head and neck got stuck inside the pot. The boy began crying loudly and family members rushed to help him. They however could not do much and immediately took him to the nearby doctor. However most doctors refused to help them, given the risks involved.

Finally, Dr Minaj Patel agreed to intervene and help the child. He called other hospital staff and also a plumber named Khalid Shaikh for assistance. In order to protect the child they used a wooden PUC sheet and a wet cloth to protect the child. They used a grinder cutter to then cut open the utensil, from around the child’s head, reported India Today. It took 12 minutes for the team to remove the utensil from around the child’s head. No harm happened to the child during the entire process.
