Imran Khan To Star Alongside Aamir Khan In Ashneer Grover Biopic? What We Know

Bollywood rumour mills have been working overtime around the reported Ashneer Grover biopic. Just as reports of a possible Imran Khan appearance in the film started making headlines, the actor himself stepped in to set the record straight. Imran, who was recently seen in a cameo in Vir Das’ Happy Patel, has flatly denied any involvement in the project. The biopic, which reportedly stars Aamir Khan and Shraddha Kapoor, continues to generate buzz even before an official announcement has been made.

Imran Khan Shuts Down Biopic Rumours

Earlier in the day, a Mid-Day report claimed that  recently underwent a look test for the Ashneer Grover biopic and that the makers were quite impressed with how he fit into the film’s world. The report also stated that his role would be pivotal, not just a brief appearance.

Imran, however, was quick to dismiss the story. When contacted by Hindustan Times, he said he had not even heard of the project and called the reports untrue. His denial leaves little room for speculation.

This is not the first time rumours around the biopic’s cast have run ahead of official announcements.

All About The Ashneer Grover Biopic

Multiple reports claim that Aamir Khan has read the script and loved it, and is very much on board to play the lead role of Ashneer Grover.

Shraddha Kapoor is reportedly set to play Madhuri Jain Grover, Ashneer’s wife and former Head of Controls at BharatPe. As per reports, it was decided early in development that Shraddha would play the female lead, and she has followed the screenplay’s progress closely.

The film is expected to cover Grover’s rise as an entrepreneur and the controversy around his exit from BharatPe in 2022, when allegations emerged that he and his family had misused company funds.

Rahul Mody has been working on the screenplay for nearly three years. He previously wrote Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018) and is also rumoured to be in a relationship with Shraddha Kapoor. The biopic will mark his directorial debut.

Imran Khan’s Bollywood Comeback So Far

Imran Khan was a beloved face in Bollywood through his films like Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na and Delhi Belly. His last lead role came in 2015 with Katti Batti, after which he disappeared from the screen for nearly a decade.

He recently ended his long hiatus with Happy Patel, a quirky comedy produced by Aamir Khan and directed by Vir Das.
