Entering the AC directly from hot air environment can cause many health problems. Experts say that entering a place with cold air directly from the hot weather affects the temperature of our body. People going to work in everyday life consider this as normal. But this can also cause problems.

Due to this, there is a risk of muscle stiffness, severe headache and other problems. In this article, we are going to tell you through experts what effect this mistake has on health. Know…

What do experts say

Actually, when we go directly from the heat of 40 degree Celsius to the AC temperature of 20-22 degree Celsius, the body gets thermal shock. Dr. Mohammad Shahid (Senior Consultant – Internal Medicine Apollo Spectra Hospital Kanpur) says that Going straight from scorching heat to a cold AC environment, like Delhi Metro, can prove to be a shock to the body. Experts say that the sudden change between the intense heat outside and the cold inside disturbs the body temperature balance, which can cause problems like cold, sore throat and headache.

He told that when you are sweating a lot and immediately go into the cold air of AC, then muscle stiffness, fatigue and sometimes even dizziness can occur. Especially for people who have allergies or breathing problems, this change can cause more problems.

Dr. Shahid says that after coming from outside, stay in normal temperature for 25 minutes, let the sweat dry a little and then go into the AC. Also, instead of drinking cold water immediately, take normal or slightly cold water. With a little caution, you can avoid this temperature shock and keep your health safe even in summer.

being dehydrated

Do you know that due to being outside in the heat, a lot of water is lost from the body and in the meantime, when you immediately go into the AC, the sweat dries up. Due to this we do not realize and the body starts getting dehydrated.

cold and sore throat

Due to high heat, directly entering the AC of the metro harms the immune system. In fact, frequent exposure to hot and cold temperatures can weaken the immune system, due to which one catches cold quickly. Elderly people, small children, people with asthma or respiratory disease, high blood pressure and migraine patients should take special care of this thing.

easy ways to prevent

It is important to change the temperature gradually. For this, instead of going directly into AC, stay in the shade for 1-2 minutes. Also, drink water before going in the metro to avoid dehydration. If your clothes are wet with sweat, do not make the mistake of going into the AC immediately.
