‘Namo Bharat’, which runs at a speed of 160 on the 55 km long route of ‘Delhi Meerut Regional Rapid Transport System’, has become the fastest train in the country. The 82.15 km long corridor from Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi to Modipuram in UP will be completed soon.
Namo bharat train speed: Namo Bharat Train has become the fastest speed train in the country. The train caught 160 kmph on the 55 km long section of the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System. Earlier, the Gatiman Express launched in 2016 was the first semi-high speed train in the country, which ran between Hazrat Nizamuddin to Agra at a speed of 160 kmph on a special track. Later, when the semi-high speed train Vande India was started, it also ran at the same speed in the 160 Agra-Nizamuddin section, but later on June 24, 2024, the Ministry of Railways reduced its speed from 160 to 130 km per hour.

Officials of the National Capital Regional Transport Corporation Limited (NCRTCL) said that the 82.15 km long corridor with 16 stations from Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi to Modipuram in Uttar Pradesh is likely to be commissioned soon. NCRTC, Government of India (50%) and Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan (every 12.5%) are a joint venture that is implementing the country’s first Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTs).
