Panchayat 3 Actor Struggle Story: ‘Panchayat’ is one of the most successful web series till date. Actor Vinod Suryavanshi, who played the role of the new secretary in its third season, recently talked openly about his career and struggles. He told how he accidentally entered the film industry and how many difficulties he had to face as a junior artiste.
Entry into acting happened by chance
While talking to entertainment journalist Siddharth Kannan, Panchayat actor Vinod Suryavanshi said that his entry into acting was completely a coincidence. According to Vinod, “I accidentally came into the film industry. A friend called me and said that I could earn Rs 500 by being part of the crowd in the shooting. He liked the initial benefits like breakfast, lunch and Rs 500 at the end of the day. He considered it better than his old job and decided to continue working as a junior artist.”
Journey from security guard to junior artist
Describing his old work, he said that earlier he was a security guard, where he got only Rs 8,000 per month for a 12-hour shift. At the same time, after becoming a junior artist, his earning increased to Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000, which was a big change for him.
Insults and struggles as a junior artist
While on one hand his earnings increased, on the other hand he had to face insults many times on the set. Vinod said, “No one talks nicely to the junior artistes. They are often abused and treated badly. The assistant director did not treat us well. However, the senior artistes never insulted us.”
When even the dinner plate was snatched away
Vinod mentioned an incident which completely changed his thinking. He told that once he had gone to a room to eat food, when a senior person snatched his plate and asked who he was. When he told that he was a junior artist, he was asked to leave from there. Even when he said that the food kept for the junior artistes was over, he was chased away from there. He was deeply saddened by this incident. He said, “That very day I decided that I have to do something big in this industry, so that I too get respect and can sit anywhere and eat food comfortably.”
Repeated rejection due to looks
Even after coming into acting, his struggle did not end. He told that he was rejected many times because of his looks. He said, “When I gave auditions for TV, they often wanted a rich-looking face. Even for the role of a beggar, they wanted a rich-looking actor. I was told that I did not fit their requirement.”
The pain of being removed from the roll because of color
Vinod shared another incident when he was rejected from a role because of his colour. He told, “I was selected for the role of a domestic servant. I reached the shoot, but the creative director said that we need someone with fair complexion. I have a dark complexion, so I was sent back.”
First break and further journey
After years of struggle he finally got his first big opportunity on TV. He told that he got a chance to work in Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, where his earning increased from Rs 700 to Rs 2500 per day. After this, he moved ahead and also worked in films and web series. He has been seen in Jolly LLB 3 with Akshay Kumar and has also been a part of the web series ‘Janawar’. However, today on the basis of his hard work he has made a distinct identity in the industry.
