Rishabh Pant says batting struggles behind LSG loss to RR

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain Rishabh Pant acknowledged that the team is facing difficulties, particularly with their batting, following their defeat to Rajasthan Royals (RR) on April 23. He emphasised the importance of the team remaining united and seeking solutions internally rather than externally.

Addressing the team’s disappointment, Pant said: “I think it is difficult to explain. Like it’s definitely our batting is letting us down, but at the same time, we are disappointed as a team, as a group, but at the same time, you’ve got to keep finding ways, you know. You have to look for answers inside, not outside, but that’s how it is as of now.”

He maintained a positive outlook, stating: “See, definitely, there is still a lot we want to look at the positive side. We all know it’s disappointing for us as a team, but we have to keep our heads high and look for answers inside. And we surely know that we have enough firepower in our bowling and batting, and we can still turn it around. That’s what I believe in.”

The comments came after Ravindra Jadeja contributed a strong all-round performance, scoring 43 runs off 29 balls and taking a crucial wicket. Rajasthan Royals’ disciplined bowling attack, led by pace bowlers Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger, helped RR secure a 40-run victory over LSG, ending their two-match losing streak.

With this win, Rajasthan Royals rose to second place in the IPL points table with 10 points from seven matches, while Lucknow Super Giants remain ninth, struggling to secure essential points.
