Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday approved special incentives for 18 big and very big projects. There will be a total investment of Rs 2.56 lakh crore in these projects, the aim of which is to create more than one lakh direct and indirect jobs in the state. These approvals were given in the 14th meeting of the Cabinet Sub-Committee on Industry, Energy, Labor and Mining chaired by Fadnavis. According to an official statement, the meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Industries Minister Uday Samant and senior officials. Which company will invest how much?
- The statement said that an investment of Rs 2,56,137.01 crore is expected, and these projects will create one lakh direct and indirect job opportunities.
- These projects are spread across core sectors and high-tech sectors, including solar cells and modules, ingots and wafers, green steel, green ammonia, electronics, space and defense equipment, lithium-ion batteries, electric vehicles, steel, and gas-to-chemicals.
- Among the key proposals, Virtuoso Compressors Pvt Ltd will invest Rs 800 crore in Nashik, creating 500 jobs, while Tembo Defense Products Pvt Ltd will invest Rs 1,000 crore in Amravati.
- Nidec Global Appliances India Pvt Ltd will set up a project worth Rs 1,000 crore in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, which will create 1,000 employment opportunities.
- Jabil Circuit India Pvt Ltd is planning an investment of Rs 1,500 crore in Shirur near Pune, which is expected to create 3,000 jobs.
- In Gadchiroli, Hariom Pipe Industries Ltd will invest Rs 3,135 crore, which will provide employment to 8,000 people.
- Nibe Space will invest Rs 4,000 crore in Ahilyanagar, while Eurobus India Pvt Ltd will invest Rs 4,200 crore in Talegaon, creating 12,000 jobs.
- Million Steel Pvt Ltd will set up a project worth Rs 256.01 crore in Chandrapur. Ashok Leyland Ltd will invest Rs 10,000 crore in Bhandara, which will create 1,000 jobs.
- ACME Cleantech Solutions Pvt Ltd will invest Rs 11,400 crore in Butibori (Nagpur) and an additional Rs 11,000 crore for a green steel project in Raigarh/Palghar.
- Solar Defense and Aerospace Ltd will invest Rs 12,780 crore in Nagpur, while Globe Forge Ltd will invest Rs 15,430 crore in Ahilyanagar and Dharashiv. Balasore Alloys will invest Rs 17,479 crore in Raigarh.
- Godavari New Energy Pvt Ltd will invest Rs 27,515 crore in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, and ACME Cleantech will also set up a Rs 37,800 crore green ammonia project in Raigarh/Palghar.
- In Gadchiroli, Rashmi Metallurgical Industries Pvt Ltd will invest Rs 40,000 crore, creating 20,000 employment opportunities.
- The largest investment will come from Essar Exploration and Production Ltd, which will invest Rs 56,852 crore in Raigarh, creating 25,000 jobs.
Local economy will be strong
Fadnavis said that these projects will boost industrial development in Konkan, Vidarbha and Marathwada regions of the state, strengthen local economies, and boost innovation, research and development, as well as supply chain ecosystem. The Chief Minister further said that micro, small and medium enterprises will benefit, while local workers will get training and skill development opportunities, which will increase their employability.
