Dr. Rohit Sharma Watermelon is a fruit that gives coolness and hydration to the body, but eating it on an empty stomach is not beneficial for everyone. Watermelon contains a lot of water and natural sugar. In such a situation, consuming it on an empty stomach can increase the sugar level in the body rapidly and also affects the digestive system.

First of all, eating watermelon on an empty stomach can cause a sudden increase in blood sugar, which can be risky for diabetic or prediabetic people.

Secondly, due to excess water present in it, there may be problems of heaviness in the stomach, gas and bloating.

Third, some people feel acidity and heartburn because fruits react quickly on an empty stomach.

Fourth, excessive consumption of watermelon can increase the problem of frequent urination, which can lead to electrolyte imbalance in the body and feeling of weakness.

Fifth, people whose digestive system is weak may complain of diarrhea or loose motion. It is better to have watermelon as a light snack at any time of the day rather than eating it in the morning on an empty stomach. Its real benefits are achieved only by consuming it in balanced quantity and the body remains healthy.
