Yogi Adityanath attacked Mamata Banerjee in rallies in West Bengal and claimed BJP’s victory on May 4. He appealed for change by raising issues of development, law and order and culture.

Kolkata/Nadia/Howrah. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made a strong attack on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the public meetings of West Bengal. He said that ‘saffron will wave’ in Bengal on May 4 and after that the countdown of Trinamool Congress goons will start. Targeting Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee, he said that ‘aunt and nephew want to destroy the identity of Bengal.’ A huge crowd gathered at the public meetings held in Jorasanko, Chakdaha and Udaynarayanpur, where people came with posters like ‘Yogi ji bring bulldozer’.

Claim of waving saffron in Bengal on May 4

CM Yogi Adityanath said that BJP will get a big success in the first phase of voting to be held on April 23 and when the results are declared on May 4, the BJP flag will wave in Bengal. He said that Bengal will again become ‘Sonar Bangla’ and the identity of the state will be saved. He appealed to the voters to use their vote properly and bring change.

‘The game is over, now development begins’ – West Bengal election slogan

Responding to Mamata Banerjee’s ‘Khela Hobe’ slogan, the Chief Minister said, ‘Now Khela will end and development will begin.’ He alleged that the development money sent by the Central Government was not being utilized properly. He said that if BJP government is formed, festivals like Ram Navami and Durga Puja will be celebrated without any hindrance. He said that with the power of the people, hooliganism will end in Bengal and the path of development will open.

Issue of legacy of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore

Referring to the legacy of Rabindranath Tagore, Yogi Adityanath said that there should be a photograph of him and Bharat Mata at his ancestral place, but allegedly photographs of other leaders have been installed there. He called it against the cultural identity of Bengal.

Government cornered on unemployment and industries

The Chief Minister said that Bengal, which was once a strong center of the country’s economy, is now struggling with the problem of unemployment and closure of industries. He claimed that in the last years thousands of industries were closed and lakhs of youth became unemployed. Farmers are also not getting fair price for their produce.

Referring to UP Model: Law, Order and Development

Giving the example of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath said that before 2017 there was anarchy there too, but now law and order has improved and festivals are celebrated peacefully. He said religious places like Ayodhya, Kashi, Mathura and Prayagraj have been developed and there is a ‘no curfew, no riot’ situation in the state.

CM Yogi’s statement on language and culture

The Chief Minister said that the identity of Bengal is its language and culture. He said that Bengali language should be given priority and it is necessary to maintain the cultural heritage of the state. He said that ‘Maha Kali resides in the heart of Bengal and Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and Belur Math reside in the eyes.’

Controversy regarding the meeting in Udaynarayanpur and Yogi’s reply

Yogi Adityanath said that an attempt was made to stop the gathering in Udaynarayanpur, but he decided to hold the program even while standing in the sun. He met the family of late BJP worker Subodh Jeet and expressed his condolences and encouraged the workers. He said that ‘after May 4, the situation will change and a response will be given.’ Appreciating the enthusiasm of the people present in the meeting, he claimed that BJP will get success on all the seats of Howrah.

Appeal in support of BJP candidates

The Chief Minister appealed to vote in support of BJP candidates from various assembly constituencies. These include Vijay Ojha, Tapas Roy, Santosh Pathak, Purnima Chakraborty, Parth Chaudhary, Priyanka Tibrewal, Bankim Chandra Ghosh and Prabhakar Pandit. He asked the public to bring change in Bengal by helping BJP win with a huge majority.
