Giving big relief to the farmers, Madhya Pradesh Cabinet decided to increase the compensation on land acquisition by 4 times. Also, Rs 33,985 crore has been approved for irrigation, roads, education and health.

An important and historic decision was taken in the interest of farmers in the meeting of the Council of Ministers held at Mantralaya on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. The government has increased the multiplication factor applicable to land acquisition of agricultural land to 2.0. Due to this, now farmers will be able to get compensation for the acquired land up to four times the market rate. This rule will be applicable to agricultural land in rural areas of the entire state, whereas in urban areas this factor will remain 1 as before. Apart from this, the Cabinet has also approved about Rs 33,985 crore for the development of infrastructure like irrigation, health, education and roads.

Agricultural land acquisition compensation: Now you will get 4 times the market rate

Under this decision of the government, changes have been made in the ‘Madhya Pradesh Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Rules 2015’. By increasing the multiplication factor in rural areas, farmers will get more compensation for their land than before. With this decision, land acquisition for roads, bridges, railways, dams and irrigation projects will be easier and the economic condition of farmers will be strengthened.

Decision taken on the recommendation of the expert committee

The sub-committee of ministers Tulsiram Silavat, Rakesh Singh and Chetanya Kumar Kashyap played an important role in this decision. The committee studied the policies of other states and prepared its report after discussions with organizations like CREDAI, CII and FICCI.

Micro irrigation project of Ujjain approved

Approval of Rs 157 crore 14 lakh has been given for Indokh-Rudahera micro irrigation project of Ujjain district. This project will provide irrigation facility in 10,800 hectare area and will benefit 35 villages of Jharra tehsil.

Chhindwara Irrigation Complex: Increase in rehabilitation package

The rehabilitation package of Chhindwara Irrigation Complex Project has been increased from Rs 840 crore to approximately Rs 969 crore. This package will be similar to the Ken-Betwa river linking project. Under this project, 4 dams will be built, which will provide irrigation facility to 1,90,500 hectare area of ​​Chhindwara and Pandhurna and 628 villages will be benefited.

Rs 25,164 crore for road and public works works

Rs 25,164 crore has been sanctioned for various development works under the Public Works Department. This includes a number of projects including road construction, bridges, repairs and maintenance, which will continue from 2026 to 2031.

Free Cycle Scheme and Education Upgradation

Rs 990 crore has been sanctioned for continuation of the Free Cycle Scheme for students in rural areas from 2026-27 to 2030-31. Apart from this, an amount of more than Rs 1,200 crore has been sanctioned to strengthen teacher training institutions and education infrastructure.

Rs 5,479 crore to strengthen health services

Rs 5,479 crore has been sanctioned to provide advanced medical facilities in the state. Super specialty services like oncology, cardiology and organ transplant facilities will be strengthened under the CM CARE 2025 scheme. Also, the revised cost for setting up a new medical college in Mandla has been fixed at Rs 347 crore.

New arrangement for family accommodation in hospitals

The government has approved the construction of family residences in medical college campuses. This facility will be developed through private institutions, so that the family members accompanying the patients will be able to get better accommodation facility at less cost.
