New Delhi: In a shocking incident from Delhi’s Amar Colony, a 21-year-old daughter of an IRS officer has been found murdered in her home. The victim’s father was the IRS officer of the 1997 batch. She was preparing for the UPSC exam to follow in her father’s footsteps.
As per reports, the murder in the national capital has shocked the entire administrative staff community. The initial probe by the police suggested that the victim could have been raped before the murder. The murderer reportedly strangled her to death using a mobile phone charger.
Ex-servant suspected of being behind the crime
The police suspect that Rahul, who used to work earlier in the house as a servant. A resident of Rajasthan, he was fired around two months back. During the probe, it was found that Rahul was embezzling funds used to order household items. After learning the same, the family fired him from his job.
While checking the CCTV camera in the surrounding areas, he was spotted on the camera at around 6 AM. He had worked in the house for two months. The murder was committed between 6:30 AM and 7:30 AM. The victim’s parents used to go to the gym in the morning.
The victim was alone at the time of the murder
He also knew that the victim would be alone at this time and also that servants would come later. Due to this, he committed the crime in the morning. The post-mortem report is awaited to find out whether the victim was raped. It is also being probed whether the man stole anything from the house before fleeing. The police is currently on the lookout for him.
Senior police officials reached the house after learning about the crime as well as the forensic teams. Police teams have been formed to nab the accused servant. They are also conducting raids at possible hideouts.
