Citadel 2 trailer and expected plot
Season 2 follows Nadia Sinh and Mason Kane as they attempt to rebuild their shattered organisation. Alongside intelligence strategist Bernard Orlick, played by Stanley Tucci, the trio must regroup and recruit a fresh team of agents.
Their mission is far from simple. According to the official synopsis, the operatives are racing against time to stop a conspiracy that could alter the course of humanity. The trailer teases explosive action sequences, shadowy alliances and unexpected betrayals that threaten to reshape the spy world.

Citadel Season 2 is set to release on May 6, 2026, on Prime Video.
Citadel budget
Citadel made headlines in 2023 for its massive production scale. Reports suggested that the first season’s six episodes carried a staggering budget of around $250 million to $300 million, placing it among the most expensive television shows ever produced. The budget details for Season 2, however, have not been disclosed yet.

The new season also expands the cast with several prominent additions. Actors Lesley Manville, Ashleigh Cummings, Jack Reynor, Matt Berry, Lina El Arabi, Merle Dandridge, Gabriel Leone and Rayna Vallandingham are joining the ensemble.
The series will unfold across seven episodes.
Citadel universe
The latest chapter also reflects a shift in Amazon’s broader franchise strategy. In April 2025, Amazon MGM Studios announced that spin-offs, including Citadel: Honey Bunny, starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Varun Dhawan, and Citadel: Diana, would not continue. Instead, elements from those storylines will reportedly be woven into the second season of Citadel.
