E-commerce company Amazon has suspended Palestinian software engineer Ahmed Shahore. The reason behind this decision has been explained the opposition of the employee. Shahore had opposed the company’s agreement with the Israeli government. Shahore criticized cloud computing called “Project Nimbus”, which provides facilities like AI and data centers to the Israeli government.
Amazon alleged that Shahore has violated the policies of the company. Whereas Shahore has spoken about his right to express his opposition at his office.
Palestinian engineer Ahmed Shahur had been working as a Seattle office in the division of e-commerce company Amazon for the last three years. He opposed Project Nimbus through post and a letter on Slack channels.
Why was Ahmed Shahur suspended?
Ahmed Shahur alleged that the project launched in 2021 with the help of Google offers Nimbus, Israel to AI, data center and other things. Amazon has suspended Palestinian software engineer as it publicly opposed the company’s Israeli government.
According to media reports, soon after this, Amazon sent a notice to Shahur, who joined three years ago, it was written, “Amazon’s attention has come to mind that a post done by you on many internal slack channels of the company can violate several policies.” Amazon suspended the Philistini Engineer when he opposed the contract with the Israeli government.

Ahmed Shahur says that Amazon is constantly trying to suppress the voice of Palestinians. Apart from this, an employee of France was thrown out of the job due to Israel’s criticism on social media posts. Amazon’s spokesperson said that the company does not tolerate any kind of discrimination or threatening behavior and language.
Earlier, a similar protest was also seen in Microsoft. During that time, the company excluded 4 employees. They were also opposing the help of Israel.
