Before the Bihar assembly elections 2025, the BJP can cut the ticket of its 15 MLAs and is preparing to give the youth a chance. The selection of candidates has reached the final stages through regional meetings of JP Nadda and Amit Shah.
Patna: The Bihar assembly election 2025 may not have been announced yet, but the election stir has increased in the political corridors. Both the Grand Alliance and NDA are busy strategizing for the sharing of seats and selection of candidates. As part of the election preparations, both sides are conducting a thorough investigation of their potential candidates. In this process, many current MLAs are expected to cut tickets.
15 MLAs may cut tickets
According to BJP sources, this time the party can cut the ticket of about 15 current MLAs. The reviews within the party have led to main reasons for age, inactivity, victory with low votes and giving place to leaders from other parties. According to the information, 6 BJP MLAs are over 70 years of age, in which preparations are being made to give a chance to young faces. At the same time, the margin of victory in 6 seats in the 2020 elections was less than 3 thousand, while this difference in 8 seats was below 2 thousand. Apart from this, BJP candidates lost more than 11 thousand votes in 13 seats, due to which the party leadership feels the need for change in these seats.
From JP Nadda to Amit Shah active in Bihar
The central leadership’s Bihar tour continues in the election year. BJP national president JP Nadda reached Patna on Saturday, where he held a meeting of the core committee and handed over the leaders to the leaders. In this episode, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Bihar on 15 September. During this time, he will give the state a gift of big projects. Also, on September 18 and 27, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will preside over regional meetings in Bihar, where the selection of candidates will be finalized. Patna, Magadh and Shahabad zones will be held on September 18, while on 27 September, a meeting of Kosi, Seemanchal, Saran, Champaran and Mithilanchal zones will be held.
Divided Bihar in 5 zones
The central leadership has divided Bihar into five zones regarding the electoral strategy. 5 to 7 possible names will be selected from each assembly constituency, out of which 3 names will be sent to Delhi. The final candidate will be declared 5 to 9 days before the process of nomination. So far, about 1300 leaders have deposited their biodata in the state BJP office, which is clear that the new strategy and leadership change in the election has intensified.
Political experts believe that this change is part of the party’s future strategy, bringing the youth forward under leadership and removing inactive leaders is the main objective. On the other hand, the central leadership is also paying special attention to regional equations to maintain the strength of alliance. There may be major changes in Bihar politics in the coming months. The entire state’s eyes are on these activities about election equations.
