New Delhi: Mumbai Indians (MI) pacer Jasprit Bumrah has finally ended his IPL 2026 wicket drought and dismissed Gujarat Titans (GT) opener Sai Sudharsan for a duck on the first ball of the innings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday, April 20.
He bowled a full delivery, and it moved away a bit, and looked to slice it over covers. But, he got it off the toe-end of the bat, and Krish took a comfortable catch near cover-point. With this scalp, Bumrah ended his long wait for the first wicket in the ongoing 2026 edition of the IPL. He has played all five matches for MI ahead of the ongoing fixture but failed to take a single wicket.

MI set 200-run target for GT
Mumbai Indians set a 200-run target for GT in 20 overs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. After being asked to bat, MI got off to a poor start as Kagiso Rabada took three wickets in the powerplay. He dismissed Danish Malewar for 2 runs in the second over of the innings, and then removed Quinton de Kock for 13 in his second over.
Rabada took his third wicket of the match and removed Suryakumar Yadav for 15 runs in the last over of the powerplay. Naman Dhir and Tilak forged a 50-run partnership to rescue MI from a troubling position. After Naman’s dismissal, Tilak batted brilliantly to help MI post 199/5. Tilak scored just 19 runs off 22 balls at one stage, but smashed 82 runs in the next 23. Rabada picked up three wickets for GT, but Prasidh had a tough night and gave away 54 runs in his 4 overs.
