The valleys of Jammu and Kashmir are so beautiful that people feel like staying there. While the views of the high, lush green mountains look enticing, the roads to reach the places here are very difficult. Paths cut through rocks and deep valleys. If a mistake is made while driving, an accident can happen in the blink of an eye. Recently, many people lost their lives in a horrific road accident in Udhampur district of Jammu. The bus was full of passengers, in which there are reports of passengers being killed. If we talk about the most dangerous roads of Jammu and Kashmir, then Kishtwar-Killer Road is considered to be the most important one. It is also known as ‘Cliffhanger’. Actually, this route has many turns and is also very narrow. The biggest thing is that this is a rough road and hence there is no safety. No railing will be found on this route. On one side there is a straight rock and on the other side there is a deep gorge of Chenab river.
This road is so long
This inaccessible road of Jammu and Kashmir amidst the mountains is considered a part of National Highway 26. From here, picturesque views of thousands of feet deep valleys are visible, but this experience can also be very scary. This road is approximately 114 kilometers long and is narrow as well as winding for about 100 miles. If you have gone here to visit and your GPS or map is telling you the way, then do not trust it even by mistake. Only very experienced drivers can drive on this road.

This road is so dangerous and there are such slopes that the human brain stops working due to fear. The road has been built by cutting the edge of the rock and the road has been prepared with gravel, stones and sand, but the condition of the road is also not that good. If there are strong winds or even slightly bad weather, it is not safe at all to drive on this road. The rocks are such that it seems as if the stones are hanging and this sometimes obstructs the view of the road while driving. This is a one lane road, which is not for the faint of heart or those driving in the plains.
It becomes bad in the rain
The climb here is very difficult and due to the altitude there is a lack of oxygen. Even though this route is inaccessible, trade and tourism can run smoothly because of this route. Earlier, due to being inaccessible, this place was cut off from economic development. During the rains, this road becomes even worse due to mud and slippage and if you are planning a trip then you should not come here even by mistake in this season.
