Bhopal. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav launched a scathing attack on the entire opposition including Congress over the delay and obstacles in implementing the 131st Constitutional Amendment Bill related to women’s reservation, i.e. Nari Shakti Vandan Act 2023. Taking direct aim at Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, he said that this important bill could not be passed in the Lok Sabha, while the Congress was busy celebrating it. The Chief Minister said that Priyanka Gandhi, who earlier used to give slogans like “I am a girl, I can fight”, has now retreated on the issue of women’s rights. He alleged that the opposition has worked to suppress women’s rights.

Describing the history of Congress as anti-women, Dr. Yadav said that this tradition is old. Citing the example of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, he said that even 40 years ago, women were deprived of their rights by changing a decision of the Supreme Court in Parliament. He said that the record of Congress and other opposition parties has been against the interests of women and this bill also fell victim to the same mentality.

While addressing the Jan-Aakrosh Mahila Padyatra organized at MVM Maidan, the Chief Minister said that a large number of women MPs, MLAs, public representatives and common women participated in this movement. He also symbolically released black balloons in protest against the opposition and said that this protest is against the insult to women.

Dr. Yadav said that women can forget everything, but never forget their insult. He said that by stopping the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, the opposition parties have hurt the rights of women. He assured that the government will make every possible effort to provide women their rights and the public will answer those who are doing injustice to women.

The Chief Minister said that the NDA government wanted all the parties together to pass this law, but due to numerical strength this was not possible. He said that the public will never forgive those who betrayed half the country’s population.
