R Ashwin on Senior Players Batting Approach: In the last ODI match of the series played against England at Lord’s, the Indian team had to face a close defeat by 27 runs. Chasing the target of 388 runs, Team India could only reach the score of 360 in 50 overs. After this crushing defeat and losing the series, former Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has given a big and shocking statement on the attitude of the team’s senior batsmen. Ashwin believes that during this big run chase, senior players like captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul were seen quite hesitant at the crease.
Along with winning the match, there is also concern about one’s own runs.
During a conversation on his official YouTube channel, R Ashwin gave a big statement on the mentality of Indian batsmen. Ashwin said that during the match, the Indian batsmen seemed more concerned about their individual scores than the team’s victory. Ashwin explained by gesturing with his hand, ‘The pitch at Lord’s was definitely a bit difficult, but when KL Rahul, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were batting, I could see a hesitation in their game. There is one shot which is played directly to win the match, and the other shot says that we want to win the match, but at the same time I also have to score my own runs. If the players get complete security from the team management, then this hesitation will completely disappear from their game.

Despite the efforts of Rohit-Virat, they lost
Talking about the match, Rohit Sharma batted brilliantly and scored the 34th century of his ODI career. He played a stormy innings of 138 runs in 110 balls. At the same time, star batsman Virat Kohli also made an important contribution of 74 runs in 60 balls. However, KL Rahul returned to the pavilion after scoring only 12 runs, due to which India remained 27 runs away from the target. Even though India had started the ODI series with a spectacular win by 6 wickets, the team had to lose the series due to consecutive defeats in the last two matches.
This tour of England has been no less than a nightmare for the Indian team. Before suffering a 1-2 defeat in the ODI series, Team India also had to face a crushing defeat in the 5-match T20 International series, where host England registered a one-sided victory by 4-0.
