Ryan Reynolds Blake Lively: Actor Ryan Reynolds has finally addressed the intense public scrutiny surrounding his wife, Blake Lively and her ongoing legal battle with actor-director Justin Baldoni. Speaking during a recent appearance on Today’s Sunday Sitdown Live, the Deadpool star offered a rare glimpse into how the controversy has affected their family.

Ryan Reynolds expresses pride in Blake Lively

During the conversation with host Willie Geist, Ryan was asked how his family has been coping with the high-profile legal saga, which began in late 2024. The Detective Pikachu actor responded with a strong show of support for his wife.

“Really, without getting into too much, I have never in my life been more proud of my wife. People have no idea what is really going on. I’ve never been more proud of someone in my life, with that level of integrity that they bring with them in everything they do,” he said.

Ryan also reflected on how public narratives can differ from personal reality. “You really see kind of the illusion behind so much of this stuff, you know? Digital life versus real life,” he added.

The couple married in 2012 and share four children: daughters James, 11, Inez, 9, and Betty, 6, along with their son Olin, 3. Despite the ongoing controversy, the pair have continued to appear together at public events. Earlier this year, they attended the Time100 Gala in New York and were also spotted enjoying a Broadway show in March.

Blake Lively’s legal battle with Justin Baldoni

The dispute stems from Blake’s lawsuit against Justin, her co-star and director in the film It Ends With Us. In the lawsuit, Blake Lively accused Justin Baldoni of harassment and alleged that he orchestrated a smear campaign during the film’s production.

Justin has denied the allegations and filed a countersuit.

Earlier this month, the case saw a major development when Judge Lewis Liman dismissed the majority of Blake’s claims. The court struck down 10 of the 13 allegations, including sexual harassment and defamation. However, three claims were allowed to move forward. These include breach of contract, retaliation, and aiding and abetting retaliation. The case is now scheduled to proceed to a civil trial in New York on May 18.
