New Delhi: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper Rishabh Pant smashed a stunning one-handed six against Punjab Kings (PBKS) all-rounder Marco Jansen in the clash between the two sides in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Sunday, April 19. Pant looked at his usual best as he got off to a flyer after coming out to bat no.3 during LSG’s mammoth 255-run chase at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur.
Pant arrived in the middle for LSG in the sixth over of their run chase after the fall of Ayush Badoni, who was promoted to open the innings with Mitchell Marsh and played a good hand with 35 off 21 balls. The swashbuckling left-hander got off the mark with a single before smashing back-to-back sixes against Jansen.
Pant smoked the first one over wide long on for a maximum before nailing a one-handed six on the next delivery. It was typical Pant as the LSG skipper charged down against a slower delivery from Jansen and dispatched the ball into the stands, making it look effortless. It was a handsome 89m hit from the left-hander, who made his intent clear from the word go.

Pant got off to a superb start with back-to-back sixes against Jansen and looked in great touch as he ensured LSG kept up with the required run rate in the massive run chase to keep their chances alive. However, the left-hander failed to notch up a well-deserved half-century.
Pant was dismissed after scoring a quickfire 43 off 23 balls, laced with four sixes and a solitary four. The LSG skipper was dismissed by left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh after edging an outside off delivery to Punjab Kings wicketkeeper Prabhsimran Singh in the 13th over of his side’s innings.
