Tamil Nadu Firecracker Factory Blast: 18 people died and many were injured in a massive explosion at a firecracker factory in Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu. Expressing grief, Chief Minister MK Stalin has given instructions to speed up the relief work.
Firecracker Factory Blast Tamil Nadu: A heartbreaking news came out from Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu on Sunday, where a massive explosion in a firecracker factory took away the happiness of many families. At least 18 people died in the accident that took place in Kattanarpatti area, while 6 others are said to be seriously injured. After the incident, there was chaos in the entire area and relief work was started immediately.

How did the accident happen?
According to preliminary information, the explosion occurred suddenly inside the factory premises. The explosion was so strong that its sound was heard in the surrounding areas and a large part of the factory was damaged. According to Press Trust of India (PTI), the accident has been confirmed by the Fire and Rescue Department. The exact cause of the explosion is currently being investigated, but initial fears point towards mishandling of chemicals or lapse in safety standards.

Relief and rescue operations continue
As soon as information about the incident was received, fire brigade and rescue teams reached the spot.

Chief Minister expressed grief
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has expressed deep sorrow over this accident. He wrote on social media platform The CM has directed two senior ministers KKSSR Ramachandran and Thangam Thennarasu to immediately reach the spot and monitor the relief operations.
