Between September 13 and September 15, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Mizoram, Manipur and Assam including Bihar-Bengal. It will start from Mizoram and Manipur on Saturday. PM will inaugurate projects worth 8500 crore in Manipur affected by ethnic violence.
PM modi manipur-mizoram tour: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach Manipur on Saturday 13 September. This is his first visit to the ethnic violence between Maetai and the Cookie community in 2023. Let us know that Prime Minister will walk from Aizawl of Mizoram to Churachandpur at around 12:30 pm, where many development projects worth more than Rs 8500 crore will be found and inaugurated.
Foundation stone of 7300 crore projects in Churachandpur
In Churachandpur, Manipur, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of several development projects worth more than Rs 7300 crore. These projects include Manipur urban roads worth more than Rs 3600 crore, drainage and asset management improvement projects, in addition to 5 National Highway Projects of more than Rs 2500 crore, Manipur Infotech Development (MIND) Project, hostels for working women at 9 places etc.

PM Modi will inaugurate 1200 crore projects in Imphal
Apart from this, PM Modi will also inaugurate several development projects worth more than Rs 1200 crore in Imphal, the capital of Manipur. These include Civil Secretariat, IT SEZ Building and New Police Headquarters, Manipur Bhavan in Delhi and Kolkata and Unique market for women in 4 districts in 4 districts.
10 special things about PM Modi’s Mizoram-Manipur tour
- The Prime Minister’s visit will begin with Aizawl in Mizoram, where he will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate projects worth more than Rs 9000 crore.
- These include the Bairabi-Giranrang railway line, 45 km long Eisome bypass road, Theinzole-Siyalasuk and Khankawan-Rongura roads and an LPG bottling plant in Mulakhang.
- Apart from this, PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone of Chhimatuipui River Bridge and Khelo India Multiper Indoor Hall on Longlai-Siaha Road in Mizoram.
- Will formally dedicate this railway line to the nation by flagging off the new train services connecting Aizawl to Delhi, Guwahati and Kolkata.
- The Prime Minister will then reach Churachandpur in Manipur, which is a dominated area of Kuki community and was one of the worst affected areas of violence. PM Modi will be the first Prime Minister to visit Churachandpur after Rajiv Gandhi in 1988.
- At 2.30 pm, Prime Minister will reach Imphal, the capital of Manipur, where he will inaugurate projects worth more than Rs 1200 crore and will address a public meeting in Kangla Fort.
- PM Modi will inaugurate the new Manipur Police Headquarters at a cost of Rs 101 crore in Imphal’s Minister, and the new Civil Secretariat constructed at the same area at a cost of Rs 538 crore. Other projects include drainage and asset management reform system of Rs 3647 crore and Manipur Infotech Development (MIND) project of Rs 550 crore.
- Before this visit, PM Modi wrote on X- I will participate in programs tomorrow, September 13 in Churachandpur and Imphal. We are fully committed to pursue the inclusive and all -round development of Manipur. The foundation stone of road projects, national highway projects, women hostels etc. will be laid.
- Please tell that violence broke out between Maetai and Kuki community on May 3, 2023 in Manipur. In fact, “Adivasi solidarity march” was organized in the hilly districts against the demand for the status of Scheduled Tribes by the Maetai community. After this, there was a lot of ethnic violence in this region.
- The opposition attacked PM Modi fiercely over the Manipur violence and accused him of ignoring the state. Even in August 2023, the Congress moved a no -confidence motion in Parliament, in which the government was strongly criticized for the Manipur issue.
