Kolkata: The eagerly-awaited DA (dearness allowance) hike has been announced. The Centre has offered relief for its employees and has raised DA by 2 percentage points. As a result, the DA for central government employees has now reached 60 percent. The Union Cabinet gave its seal to this raise today, April 18. This decision comes against the backdrop of employee unions demanding significant revisions to salaries in connection with the 8th Pay Commission.
