Jailer 2 leak row: Sun Pictures issues strict anti-piracy warning
A short clip from the sets of Jailer 2 began circulating widely on social media platforms before being taken down. Several users, including enthusiastic fans, shared the footage as it spread rapidly across digital platforms.
Addressing the issue, a spokesperson for Sun Pictures said in a press note, “Dear All, We would like to bring to your attention that a Video clip from the sets of Jailer 2 is currently being circulated on social media platforms.”
The statement further confirmed action against those responsible. “Our anti-piracy team is actively monitoring the situation and will be taking necessary action to remove such content, including initiating measures against accounts involved in sharing or promoting these clips,” it read.
The production house also urged restraint. “We kindly request members of the media and fans club to refrain from using, sharing, or reposting this video, to avoid any potential suspension or restrictions on their accounts. Please note that the production will not be held responsible for any such actions taken or for retrieving the accounts. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.”
The incident marks the second major leak in Kollywood within days. On April 9, an HD print of Vijay’s Jana Nayagan was leaked online and circulated widely across X, Instagram and YouTube. Chennai Police have arrested nine individuals so far. According to the Cyber Crime department, the main accused is a freelance assistant editor associated with another film.

Directed by Nelson Dilikumar, Jailer 2 is the sequel to the 2023 blockbuster Jailer. Rajinikanth returns as ‘Tiger’ Muthuvel Pandian, with Ramya Krishnan reprising her role as Vijaya. Shiva Rajkumar and Mohanlal are set to return after cameo appearances in the first instalment, while Mithun Chakraborty plays a key role.
The original film grossed over Rs 600 crore worldwide. The release date for Jailer 2 is yet to be announced.
