Expert told the mistakes related to gut health
1. Taking probiotic for every problem
Probiotics are considered good for gut health. In such situations, people include things containing probiotics in their diet. Like curd is a good option. But these are not the solution to every problem. Most probiotics do not last long in the body. Especially if you are buying market products.
2. Drink water only when you feel thirsty
Water is very important for our body. But generally people drink water only when they feel thirsty, which is not a good habit. Feeling thirsty is a late sign of lack of water in the body. Even mild dehydration can increase problems like constipation. Therefore, it is important to keep drinking small amounts of water throughout the day even if you do not feel thirsty.
3. Not every ‘healthy’ thing is right for everyone
It is not necessary that every healthy thing proves beneficial for everyone. Raw vegetables, onions and certain vegetables (like cabbage, broccoli) contain carbohydrates that do not suit everyone’s stomach. This can especially cause problems to people with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), so it is important to choose diet according to your body.
4. Focus on diet, but ignore stress
To maintain good gut health, it is not only important to have a healthy diet but also to stay away from stress. Actually, stress directly affects your gut and microbiome. There is a deep connection between the gut and the brain, hence it is very important to take care of mental health.
5. Keep eating something or the other again and again
Many people keep eating at short intervals to speed up metabolism, but this does not provide relief to the stomach. The process of cleansing our digestive system (MMC) becomes active only when we keep a gap of 3 to 4 hours. So you should change this habit also.
6. Eating too fast
Digestion begins in the mouth, where saliva starts breaking down the food. By eating too fast, this process remains incomplete and more air gets lost in the stomach, which increases the problem of bloating and acidity.
7. Ignoring the urge to go to the toilet in the morning
The gastrocolic reflex of the body is most active in the morning, which helps in bowel movement. If you repeatedly ignore the natural urge at this time, this habit can lead to problems like constipation.
