Under the Remove Encroachment campaign in Sambhal, the administration removed illegal construction from 1.1 hectare Gram Sabha land. This action was taken under court order and legal process, the campaign will continue further.

On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Sambhal district administration took major action in two villages while intensifying the campaign to remove encroachment from public land. The land was freed from encroachment by removing illegal constructions on the reserved category Gram Sabha land. During this period the administration remained completely alert and no tense situation was allowed to arise anywhere.

Action to remove illegal construction in Bichhauli village

Imambara and Idgah were constructed illegally on Gata No. 1240 (reserved for manure pit) and Gata No. 1242 (animal land) in village Bichhauli of Tehsil Sambhal. Following the entire legal process in this matter, the Tehsildar Court had issued the eviction order on January 31, 2026. When no appeal was made against this order at any level, the administration reached the spot and got the illegal construction removed.

Action also taken in Mubarakpur Bandh, 1.1 hectare land vacant

An investigation was conducted after receiving a complaint of encroachment on Gram Sabha land in village Mubarakpur Bandh. During investigation, construction of mosque and madrasa was found at gate numbers 623 and 630. The administration first gave the concerned parties a chance to remove the construction themselves. But citing lack of resources, Mutawalli Nusrat Ali and others sought cooperation from the administration. After this, the illegal construction was removed under the supervision of the administration on Friday. In total, about 1.1 hectare land in both the villages was freed from encroachment.

Action taken as per legal process: District Magistrate’s statement

District Magistrate Dr. Rajendra Pansia said that the entire action has been taken on the basis of Section 67, revenue records and court orders. He said that any kind of encroachment on Gram Sabha, cattle land, sports grounds, manure pits and other public use lands will not be tolerated. He also clarified that before taking action, full opportunity is given to the concerned parties and only then further process is adopted.

Encroachment removal campaign will continue

The District Magistrate said that the campaign against encroachment will continue in the district. Wherever illegal encroachment is found, it will be removed. He said that in such action, the final step is taken only after completing the time limit of three months and the appeal period of 30 days.
